Stagiaire librairie

Période : 3 mois minimum, à temps plein, à partir de début octobre

La librairie de la Galerie Perrotin est à la recherche d'un.e stagiaire pour une durée de trois mois minimum.
Située au sein de la galerie, la librairie présente une sélection d'ouvrages d'art contemporain ainsi que des multiples d'artistes de la galerie.

Vous participerez aux différentes activités de la librairie :

- tenue de l'espace
- accueil du public
- gestion du stock de livres et de multiples d'artistes
- préparation d'envois
- actualisation du site de vente en ligne (prises de vues, retouches d'images etc.)
- participation aux événements de la librairie

Profil recherché :

- Autonomie
- Français/Anglais parlé et écrit

Nous cherchons un(e) stagiaire disponible à temps complet et pour une durée d'au moins trois mois. Vous assistez les régisseurs dans les différentes missions de régie au sein de la galerie :

- Gestion matérielle des œuvres d’art (manutentions, présentation, emballage, accrochage etc…)
- Aide au Montage des shows - room, expositions et stands
- Intendance des locaux

- Entretien du matériel

Junior Assistant / Assistant to Director

Perrotin Hong Kong seeks a Junior Assistant / Assistant to one of its Directors. Depending on the successful candidate’s experience and qualifications, the role may be contracted as a full-time internship (possibly leading to an employment contract) or a full-time employment contract.


Responsibilities
 
The Junior Assistant / Assistant will provide vital support to the Director in the management of various artist accounts, client accounts and projects under the Director’s responsibility. This involves extensive coordination between Perrotin’s global team, artists and their studios, clients, collaborators such as art fairs and museums, and other external parties located across different time zones, on matters concerning artists, artworks, sales and projects (e.g. gallery exhibitions, art fairs and museum shows). Assignments include but are not limited to the following:

•    Prepare and update files, briefs, information decks, proposals, presentations and reports;

•    Prepare, update and manage lists and databases;

•    Draft and translate correspondences;

•    Record meeting minutes;

•    Record and update expenses;

•    Prepare sales invoices, monitor payments and follow up with clients and relevant parties on post-sale requirements;

•    Project coordination from concept/proposal to delivery to post-project reporting;

•    Plan, monitor and update schedules and budgets;

•    Liaise with stakeholders to draft and review consignment, loan and other agreements;

•    Work closely with colleagues on matters related to design, communication, logistics and various operations;

•    Liaise with external parties such as fabricators, contractors, suppliers, fine art handlers and shippers, fine art insurers, legal counsel, and other relevant individuals and companies;

•    Ad-hoc duties or projects as assigned.

The Junior Assistant / Assistant will be part of a group of gallery assistants providing administrative, coordination and operational support to the Hong Kong team on all its exhibitions, art fair participations, projects and activities. The gallery assistants are integral to maintaining a warm, welcoming atmosphere in the gallery through staffing the front desk and providing general assistance to visitors. This requires the Junior Assistant / Assistant to:

•    Develop a sound understanding of Perrotin’s roster of artists and programme of exhibitions;

•    Attend to front desk duties including transferring calls, handling enquiries, interacting with visitors, handling sales of books and merchandise, maintaining a tidy and organised front desk, switching on and off exhibitions, monitoring exhibitions, and alerting relevant colleagues to situations and matters arising at the front desk/in the gallery;

•    Assist the team with occasional general tasks and offsite tasks/projects where necessary.


Requirements

•    A Degree in art history, arts management or a related discipline;

•    Minimum of 1 to 2 years of working experience in the field of contemporary art, preferably at art galleries and auction houses (candidates with strong internship records may be considered);

•    Excellent command of written and spoken English, Chinese and Cantonese (additional languages including French, Japanese or Korean would be an asset);

•    Energetic and committed team player with a positive ‘can do’ approach and a strong sense of urgency and initiative;

•    Strong skills in communication, inter-personal relations, coordination, time management and problem solving;

•    Extremely detailed-oriented and thorough;

•    Mature, professional disposition with an international outlook;

•    Ability to thrive in an extremely fast-pace work environment that is multicultural and spans multiple time zones;

•    Willingness to work late and on days off in order to tend to deadlines and urgent matters if required;

•    Skilled in Mac operating system and Microsoft Office (skills in SketchUp and Adobe would be a strong asset);

•    Right to reside in Hong Kong.

Gallery Associate

Perrotin New York is seeking a personable and organized Associate to perform various administrative tasks, supporting the Artist Liaison, Sales, and Art Fairs teams. 

Hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 9:30am-6pm.

Candidate must be able to efficiently multitask while working in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail, excellent communication, and problem solving skills are required to excel in this position.


Required Skills & Experience:

- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field

- Minimum of two years experience in a gallery

- Knowledge of contemporary art and gallery represented artists

- Excellent written and oral communication skills

- Self-starter with the ability to multitask and problem solve 

- Polished demeanor 

- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Apple devices and G Suite a plus.

- Fluency in multiple languages a plus

- Familiarity industry-standard database software

SALES ASSOCIATE

Perrotin is seeking a full time sale associate to work at the New York location. Candidate should have at least 2 years of experience working at a commercial art gallery or auction house.


General Responsibilities include :

- Build relationships with museum curators, collectors, critics, and writers

- Meet sales goals

- Manage art fairs for the New York gallery. Responsibilities include, applications, artworks selection, stand build design, and sales strategies

- Develop and retain an in-depth knowledge of gallery artists’ practices and biographies

- Communicate artists’ practices & biographies with clients, curators, critics, writers, and the public in an articulate, professional manner

- Work with directors to develop sales strategies and define the calendar of events including exhibitions, art fairs, and other special projects

- Attend gallery openings, dinners, and other events
