This painting depicts two figures riding on a horse. It seems they are lovers.
In addition to the narrative sense of an image, I am interested in how an image can convey rich and complex meanings or some kind of emotion that is difficult to grasp or self-expressed. Almost all paintings are providing a way of interpretation to me, the process of painting can bring me something that I can't experience in real life, or something that I seek and yearn for.
Nowadays, painting has come to the point that the definite truth it expresses is not so important to me. I think the depth of the image, or the meaning of the image is different. Painting is related to the different societies we live in. Although what I paint is a certain kind of person, an event, or a scene, it more or less reflects my thoughts and emotions about real life and is closely related to my feelings about current society.
An image is truly presented on the canvas, but that particular image's story itself is unimportant. I am precisely interested in the imagery it creates and the rich or uncertain part I perceive through this image. It is always hard to pinpoint an image overnight, and some ideas recur in different paintings in my practice.
