For this series, Gabriel de la Mora continues the exploration of the monochrome through Andesite and Obisidian and incorporates mechanical tools that made it possible to transform these materials. Obtaining thin plates, barely a few millimeters thick, they are fractured to produce irregular tesserae. The works in this series operate as nodes in which di!erent temporalities come together and, in some way, are synchronized. They give an account of the accelerated intervention that turns the natural into the artificial: a creative gesture that violently transforms the material, at the same time that it wishes to remain immutable.
