In 'The Conversation', a figure initially presents as though in a state of crisis or emergency, brushstrokes seemingly engulfing the body in a sea of vibrant red, pink, and orange hues. Through the use of oil stick and painting techniques, Jeridi creates a tumultuous explosion of movement and emotion. Yet, behind the immediate hint of violence, an underlying sense of humor and echoes of cartoonish figures subtly emerge; for instance, a boot appears from the right side of the canvas to suggest another character's involvement.
This overflow of emotion offers an intimate glimpse into a dramatic and expressive dance between individuals who are unable to communicate. While the dialogue within this artwork may seem inaudible or unintelligible, its energy, however, reveals the unfolding of a vital joy taking place, even in the midst of difficult conditions and hostile environments.
