La psychologie du lieu résonne dans toute la pratique de Nick Goss. Basée tout d'abord sur l'observation et inspirée par les mythes, une impression de compression du temps et de mystère émane de sa peinture. Il prend au pied de la lettre la déclaration d'Umberto Eco dans sa préface à L'œuvre ouverte : "L'œuvre d'art est un message fondamentalement ambigu, une pluralité de significations cohabitant dans un seul signifiant. "
Nick Goss dépeint un monde fictif qui semble à la fois familier et inquiétant, et qui contient de multiples fils narratifs. Dans ses peintures, Goss semble viser le lien et la mémoire ; comment, à un moment donné, elle contient nécessairement plus d'un lieu, plus d'une logique.
Ses oeuvres sont présentes dans de nombreuses collections :
