L'œuvre de Christiane Pooley (née à Temuco, au Chili, en 1983) explore le lieu, à la fois comme un environnement physique et un état émotionnel qui transcende le temps et les frontières géographiques. Ses peintures mêlent souvenirs et images d'archives pour créer des espaces et des scènes poétiques et liminaires qui oscillent entre réalité et rêve. En même temps, l'équilibre tendu entre des détails vivants et concrets et des éléments plus abstraits crée une tension palpable et un léger sentiment d'inquiétude qui non seulement complique les notions de nostalgie, mais reflète aussi des complexités plus larges autour de l'origine et de l'identité.
