This work is a photo reflection of a cassette shelf representing the actress Jacqueline Bisset.
In 2009, Gregor Hildebrandt started his ongoing photographic series of 'Reflections'. Each work is completed through the same process: he places a subject in front of one of his 'mirror paintings,' (black monochromes made of VHS tape) and photographs the object's reflection in the dark glossy tape. Some of the so-called 'mirror paintings' contain some of his favorite iconic films, however, the tapes contents remain hidden, endowing the work an invisible dimension of mystique.
