In a dark basement room of the Wienner Secession, two of its gallery attendants pedalled on bicycles propped in stands. The light of the bulbs installed in several of the rooms of the basement was so generated by the amount of energy the two members of staff put into their pedalling. The attendants were thus transformed into the artitst's alter ego, capable of producing nothing but a feeble light in the world.
