This wooden model of a container ship is composed of 1455 HO scale containers. These containers are loaded and unloaded by two mechanical arms, placed at both extremeties of the table, stacking them on the outer rows, to form the building blocks of a gaze.

The work is placed on a stainless steel table containing the entire computer system that allows cranes to activate and recognize each container through an onboard camera system.

This installation alludes to JR’s 2014 project at the port of Le Havre. JR pasted 2,600 strips of paper on shipping containers of a cargo ship, the eyes of Elizabeth Kamanga, a Kenyan woman photographed during the project “Women Are Heroes”.
