"Das gelde shirt" is part of the artist’s emblematic series of “rip-off” paintings, which are composed of collages of audio or VHS tapes, in which Hildebrandt creates complementary positive and negative versions of the same motif. The film "The Misfortunates", 2009 by Felix Van Groeningen is recorded on the VHS tapes of the work.
