de-finition/method:
approximately twenty canvases—rectangular, square, round—will be hung so that they cover the entire surface of a wall. they will be painted the same color as the wall.
the choice of the canvases, their format, and their arrangement on the wall is entirely up to the charge-taker. he will then remove some of the canvases, perhaps from the center of the wall, and hang works from his own collection in the spaces. these works can be from any time period and in any style.
the removed canvases function as spare parts; they will be kept in one or more stacks leaning against an adjacent wall.
these canvases may be used in a second or even a third actualization of the de-finition/method “spare parts,” and they may be used to actualize this de-finition/method in a temporary show somewhere else.
